How do we cope with loss? How do people grieve? How do we process so many complex emotions? Some go to therapists, some collect things, some keep treasured mementos, some keep photographs, some take up new hobbies in honor of that person. For me ... I always have a hard time finding the way that helps me. Since my dear friend Ashley Peacock took his life, in 2019, I've struggled with finding a way to be at peace and find true closure through it all. For someone who's friendship was certainly not black and white most of those answers didn't fit. Then, one day, it hit me. Instead of doing something special on the anniversary of loss, I decided to do something pretty bold on the anniversary of birth. I decided I'd find songs of his that resonated with me deeply and I'd re-record them. Through these songs I was able to weave a story together that, surprisingly, fit every complicated emotion we go through. It is with that in mind that I present to you, "Encore". 8 of Ashley Peacock's songs re-imagined with all instruments performed by me. With this album I finally have found closure and peace .I hope, through these amazing songs, others can find that same peace.
